Synthesis and Separation of New Dibenz[b,d]azonine Atropisomers

A synthesis of the dibenz[b,d]azonine atropisomers (14) from 2-phenylbenzoic acid is described. This heterocycle belongs to a new series of biaryl compounds with potential antitubulin activity.     

A New Synthesis of Methyl 3-Amino-3,4-dideoxy-β-D-xylo-hexopyranoside

Abstract

Benzylidenation of methyl β-D-glucopyranoside, followed by selective 3-O-tosylation, reductive acetal opening, chlorination, radical deoxygenation and transesterification, afforded methyl 2,3-anhydro-6-O-benzyl-4-deoxy-β-D-ribo-hexopyranoside 8. Subsequent epoxide opening with NaN₃ and catalytic hydrogenation led to the title compound.     

1H and 13C NMR Determination of the Enantiomeric Purity of Substituted 4-Amino-3- (thien-2-Yl)-Butyric Acids and 4-Amino-3-(Benzo[b]Furan-2-yl)-Butyric Acids,Ligands of the GabaB Receptor.

The enantiomeric composition and absolute configuration of 4-Amino-3-(benzo[b]furan-2-yl)-Butanoic Acids and of 4-Amino-3-(thien-2-yl)-Butanoic Acids 1 may be accurately determined by ¹H and ¹³C nuclear magnetic resonance analysis of the corresponding derivatives 3 prepared by reaction with chiral reagents. Correlation with HPLC is signaled.     

Préparation et Étude Physico-chimique de Quelques Copolyamides Aromatiques Séquencés. I. Synthèse des Copolycondensats Séquencés

A two-stage low-temperature solution polycondensation process is described for the synthesis of two kinds of block copolyamides: poly(p-biphenylene terephtalamide-co-adipamide) and poly(2,5-dimethyl trans-piperazine terephthalamide-co-adipamide). The reactivity of oligomeric end groups in various solvents is examined. This study ascertains the influence of the nature of the solvent on the extent of polycondensation. End groups seem to be more reactive in a medium in which the polyamide is soluble; this property is used for the synthesis of block copolycondensates.
